CFDA Awards Winners

The CFDA Awards have come and gone once more. Some fabulous people were in attendance. SJP rocked a flow-y McQueen gown, Rachel Zoe in a shimmery, deep blue number, while Carmen Kass showed up in a gown with a deep back that clearly stated to me that girlfriend needs a burger and FAST. While I’ll continue why she’s even a relevant model, we’ll move on to the awards.

The Winners of the 2010 CFDA Awards:

Womenswear Designer of the Year: Marc Jacobs – Marc continues to impress and is wonderful. Is there anything to hate about his clothes?

Menswear Designer of the Year: Rag & Bone

Accessories Designer of the Year: Alexis Bittar

Swarovski Womenswear Designer of the Year: Jason Wu

Swarovski Menswear Designer of the Year: Richard Chai

Swarovski Accessories Designer of the Year: Alexander Wang

Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award: Michael Kors

International Award: Christopher Bailey – Gotta’ love Burberry.

Eugenia Sheppard Award: Kim Hastreiter

Fashion Icon Award: Iman Eleanor

Lambert Award: Tonne Goodman

CFDA Board of Directors’ Special Tribute Award: Alexander McQueen – Apparently the tribute began with SJP and then there was a runway of the latest collection. Long live McQueen.

Fashionista.com Defends Katy Perry

I couldn’t have said it better myself, Cheryl Wischover.

“Women who often get it right, with taste, a sense of humor, and personal style, like Chloe Sevigny and the Olsens, are frequently criticized in the mainstream media.”

“Fashion is about personal expression, an image, and for those of us who watch it, entertainment. I live for the moments when fashion makes me gasp. If this sometimes manifests as a swan dress or an electric frock, bring it on. Kudos, Katy.”
