Times Online – 25 Fashion Movies

Just found the Times Online did a list of 25 movies that “shook the world of fashion,” blah blah blah. Yeah, not impressed. They left out Sex and the City, no big deal, but they had reasoning and I think they failed with that. They even said that while SJP is chic, they said the other three looked like drag queens and gave Pat Field a style crime. Girlfriend can’t dress herself, but the woman can dress others perfectly. She has built a vast list of fashionable characters, each with their own style with a little flair of Pat’s personality. The movie should be on the list topping a lot of these movies. The wedding gowns were fabulous.

Moving on. Avatar, really? I’d say that maybe even Vogue had an editorial with Daria Werbowy, the tribal-wear did not start with Avatar.  They only pointed out the blue. Please. No fashion world I know was shaken from this movie. While I could go on and on in disagreeing, I’d like to question why Marie Antoinette was not on the list. The fashion made the movie. That may be a sad fact, but the gowns, panniers, wigs, the Manolo Blahnik mules, and the evolution of fashion during the young queen’s life. It was simply fabulous. Also, substituting Funny Face for Breakfast at Tiffany’s is laughable. Anyway, good for Bonnie and Clyde. Go ahead, check the list.
