Vogue Paris June/July 2012: Gisele

Sandy and tan: the summer season has yet to begin and Gisele sizzles on the cover of Vogue Paris for June and July.

Does she ever age?

It’s been a long time since you came around…

Sasha in Atelier Versace

It has certainly been a while since I have written here. I have been fairly busy and will be getting back to the swing of things soon, catching up on fashion month and the likes. During my absence, I have failed to even notice I am hitting 170,000 views, so there is that to clap about. I am slowly snatching weaves.

Vogue Paris: Anna Selezneva

It may be sweltering hot in the Midwest and across the United States, but the styling of Anna in this editorial is so cool and effortless, it makes just makes you want to throw on a few knitted layers and twirl. Unfortunately, this decision would be a mistake and you would pass out from heat exhaustion or at least drown yourself in a pool of sweat. Then where would you be? You certainly will not be twirling, so until then, heavy layering can wait while other chic options can be chosen.

Vogue Paris: Sasha Pivovarova

I love how Desperately Seeking Susan this editorial is. Sasha embodies Madonna’s downtown chic layering in Dries Van Noten, Yves Saint Laurent, Burberry Prorsum and Marc Jacobs. She’s the girl you want to chill with. Simply put, this editorial is just cool and effortless. Put this girl on the cover already. It will be long overdue and well-deserved.

Vogue Paris May 2011: Sasha Pivovarova

The sunglasses photo has been my iPhone’s wallpaper for the past week and a half. I’m in love.  The fluorescent coloring is wonderful and there’s something fresh with this small editorial. Can you spot it? There’s a lack of Photoshop and airbrushing. Her hair and “imperfections” are fairly visible, and it makes me love this simple set of photos.

Vogue Paris April 2011: Gisele

Gisele is lovely and soft on the April cover of Vogue Paris, shot by Inez & Vinoodh. The white lace Dolce & Gabbana racks up another cover, and beautifully done. The cover is almost Vogue US-esque and looks like Testino shot it, yet I’m really liking the sweet simplicity of it all.

En Vogue l’Été 2011: Sasha P

In honor of this ethereal goddess’s birthday, we will post her photos from the fabulous editorial work in Vogue Paris shot by Mario Sorrenti first. This editorial is full of vivid and surreal prints and colors. The companion to this technicolor dream of Missoni to Yohji Yamamoto are the more subdued black and whites that share a relative theme.

Cover Catch-Up

A new semester has started and a week of sickness. Where do I even begin to catch up on my lovely? For one, February is bringing us plenty of magazine covers that are really exceptional. First up, we have Lara Stone gracing the cover of Vogue Paris. Let’s note that this 70s, Gucci-fabulous cover is Carine’s 2nd to last. The editorials inside are sensational, but we’ll post about those later. Moving along, we have the LOVE cover with Lea T. submitting to Kate, which we find more sensual than the hardcore the cover implies. Can’t wait to see more from that. Last but not least, I couldn’t skip Alessandra on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar España for one reason: my devotion to Lanvin. I adore the fitted bodice atop the endlessly, flowing bottom.

Vogue Paris: Pussy West

In Tom Ford’s issue of Vogue Paris, Crystal Renn, Abbey Lee, and Eniko Mihalik star as outlaws in Pussy West, a wild west wonderland referencing Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! and probably Back to the Future’s DeLorean. What fantastical usage of Givenchy HC and Louis Vuitton Fall 2010. This is one group of outlaws I’d thoroughly running into trouble with.

**Outtake includes Tom Ford and Terry Richardson laying one on each other. Awkward or oddly sexy? I’ll go with awkward.

Vogue Paris: Daphne Groeneveld & Tom Ford

Look what we came across. So the girl gets her cover after all with Tom Ford at that. I’m not sure how I feel about this 15-year-old girl yet. She certainly has risen quite quickly being casted in Givenchy Haute Couture and not to mention the Miu Miu campaign and endless runways for Spring, yet I still can’t help but feel she’s slightly undeveloped, like she needs to be put back in her mother’s uterus. I don’t know. I’ll leave feedback once the HQ cover has leaked or released, not to mention what editorial Vogue Paris has in store for us. I’m still not fully warmed up to Wixson, so this creature may take awhile.

**Why is Tom creeping in the background?
