Mercedes-Benz: Jessica Stam

Shot by Terry Richardson, the Summer campaign for Mercedes-Benz stars model Jessica Stam. Even with all of the whorish makeup and bad hair, she looks rather fantastic.

The Met Ball: Angela, Karlie, Raquel, Lily, and Jessica

Angela Lindvall  in Andrew Gn Pre Fall 2011 and Karlie Kloss  in Christian Dior were captured together at the Met Ball. While Lindvall looks forever youthful, we have to hand it to Kloss for bringing out her beauty and maturity. The cropped hair is also fresh.

Supermodel, Raquel Zimmermann, was ravishing in black, feathered Alexander McQueen with a McQueen clutch to match. If everyone stuck to the theme like Raquel, the night would have been that much more exciting and interesting.

Lily Donaldson wore a blue lace Erdem Spring 2011 dress and looked super chic. Many were worried about the gown, but she looked sexy with a touch of delicate beauty.

Last but not least on my model watch, Jessica Stam. I was surprised to see Jessica so prim and sweet in a dressed made for her by Tommy Hilfiger. She paired the saccharine tulle with a Chopard 50-carot diamond necklace. I found this unexpected for her, since she usually adorns herself in this street fashion, rock girl and it was definitely a lovely surprise.

*Doutzen, Natalia, and Gisele looked fabulous too, but everybody knows that already.

Wonderland and W Korea: Jessica Stam

70s overload on the makeup and an always fabulous and chic woman. Jessica Stam continues to have a major place in my heart, this time on the cover of Wonderland.

Also, Stam is frosty on the cover of W Korea in cat eyes, and another deep red lip. She wears the likes of Nina Ricci and Comme de Garçons. Such a stunning queen and I wish her a full career once again.

Vogue Italia: Jessica Stam

It’s feels damn wonderful to have Stam back in Vogue Italia. She covers the beauty supplement of December’s Vogue Italia issue and I wish to see more from her once more. I love her still as much as I did in high school. Those Prada glasses give me wet dreams all over again. Here’s a preview of what’s to come:

VS Fashion Show Lineup

Now we know who will be in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and who might. I’m glad Stam and Kurkova are back. I wish they could trample that Rosie Huntington Whitley. It’s funny because Karolina was once an Angel and wore the million dollar bra twice and now she’s back as a downgrade. Whatever, she’s loads better than the bottom six of the Angels. I’ve highlighted the only ones I care about.

Grand Stam

Generally speaking, most anyone turned designer doesn’t really transition well. There are a few that can turn their normal jobs in for designer. We have the classic entertainer i.e., Jennifer “J-Lo” Lopez and every other celebrity, that decide what they’re good at or at least what they’re known for isn’t enough and there has got to be something out there they can do. Oh, they can wear designer clothes well, probably better than most, so of course they’ll know how to actually design them. That’s not ever the case. Usually the consumers get to see uninspired, generic designs that lack any form of sincere creativity. Sometimes others have it better. Case in point: Kate Moss.

Kate Moss creates a line seasonally for Top Shop and gets inspiration from her own archive of a closet and would only want things created that she would wear. Kate Moss is an iconic model, so maybe she knows a little more than just said vocalist or reality star that charges hundreds of dollars for a jersey dress. Jessica Stam joins the ranks of Moss with collaborating with Rachel Roy that actually looks good. I’ll be honest it’s not the most creative line I’ve ever seen, but the rock ‘n roll edge is true to Stam. Those pumps and the fur are standouts in the collection. Funny thing is, I feel Stammie has potential to transition into Kate Moss. She could never be her or live up to those expectations, but I’m getting the vibe from her that she is the American equivalent. Whatever the reasons, I hope she keeps this up and sticks with modeling as well. I fell in love with her in high school seeing her campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana and Dior. She is truly stunning. Congratulations on the first collaborative collection, Stam!

Jessica Stam: Spanish Revival

Over the past week I have noticed I’ve posted a few sexy posts and a few NSFW posts. Maybe it’s my subconscious telling me I just love naked people, I don’t know, but we’re in some dire need of sweet, pretty fashion before everyone goes into tits-and-ass overload. I, of course, would like to see the results of such a condition, but maybe it’s best not best we witness such a tragedy.

My, my, what do we have here? Why it’s Jessica Stam. A spoonful of Stammie makes the medicine go down. This Spanish editorial for Harper’s Bazaar brings out Fall’s velvets and flowing fabrics. I never pictured that Louis Vuitton gown in a Spanish setting, and I say the results are divine.

Christian Dior Fall Couture

Karlie KlossChristian Dior Fall 2010 Haute Couture really has me excited. Galliano took the idea of florals and laid them out quite literally. Almost every model that strutted down the runway represented a different flower. My favorite comparisons are from Fashionista.com where they put the dresses side-by-side to the flowers they look like. Every gown, every piece are absolutely stunning.

Models such as Karlie, Stam, and Magda donned plastic wrap headpieces and raffia-tied waists had an array of colors straight from the garden on stunning fabrics from mohair to organza in various tedious techniques. Such whimsy. These are the pieces I’m dying to see worn on a red carpet. It would be an amazing sight for all.

CFDA Awards Winners

The CFDA Awards have come and gone once more. Some fabulous people were in attendance. SJP rocked a flow-y McQueen gown, Rachel Zoe in a shimmery, deep blue number, while Carmen Kass showed up in a gown with a deep back that clearly stated to me that girlfriend needs a burger and FAST. While I’ll continue why she’s even a relevant model, we’ll move on to the awards.

The Winners of the 2010 CFDA Awards:

Womenswear Designer of the Year: Marc Jacobs – Marc continues to impress and is wonderful. Is there anything to hate about his clothes?

Menswear Designer of the Year: Rag & Bone

Accessories Designer of the Year: Alexis Bittar

Swarovski Womenswear Designer of the Year: Jason Wu

Swarovski Menswear Designer of the Year: Richard Chai

Swarovski Accessories Designer of the Year: Alexander Wang

Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award: Michael Kors

International Award: Christopher Bailey – Gotta’ love Burberry.

Eugenia Sheppard Award: Kim Hastreiter

Fashion Icon Award: Iman Eleanor

Lambert Award: Tonne Goodman

CFDA Board of Directors’ Special Tribute Award: Alexander McQueen – Apparently the tribute began with SJP and then there was a runway of the latest collection. Long live McQueen.
