Lady Gaga on SHOWstudio

SHOWstudio is a fashion blog along with various elements, notably the SHOWstudio with Nick Knight’s live videos that have featured 9 well-known people in fashion, the latest being Lady Gaga. There’s not a moment that I would shy away from the Lady, so why not send everyone the link to watch what she has to say about fashion and whatever topics they can fit in. I will admit, I’m loving the short hair. Very Madonna-esque, as she’s obviously modeling her career and music after the ‘Queen’. Can’t wait to watch the interview in its entirety either.

WATCH IT: HERE

From the website:

Pop phenomenon, fashion icon and award-winning recording artist, Lady Gaga is the ninth participant in our In Camera live interview series, exclusively answering questions submitted by friends, celebrities and fans worldwide.

We are delighted to announce that this live and unedited interview will now be broadcast FREE OF CHARGE from 12:00 – 14:00 BST on Sunday 30 May 2010, with on-demand footage available shortly after.

Memorial Weekend

Posts have been slow the past few days so I’ll probably be back tonight with one or even by Tuesday. Work, family gatherings, more work, and the avoidance of Indy 500 traffic and drunks. Try out those new summer fashions, bring out the shorts and bathing suits and put on that sunscreen. Be back soon. Stay fashionable.

Burberry Prorsum Resort 2011

Burberry, one of my true favorites. I am a fan of what Mr. Bailey does for Burberry. He gives it edge with sophistication while keeping true to the heritage of the house. This resort collection refelects past collections, yet gives a whole take on them. I look forward to mimic what he did with the menswear. I know H&M has a striped shirt just like the one Sebastian is wearing paired with that blue blazer to die for. The lookalike at H&M has white piping, which is even that much better, minus the superb quality of Burberry Prorsum. Like I’ve mentioned times before, I love the dress shoes without socks. The look here stays away from the casual pegged pants, but has these finely tailored trousers that come just above the shoe, which we’ve seen before and I’ve always adored from Burberry. In high school I fell in love with their menswear silhouettes and this is no different.

I love both the shoes, particulary those heels with the buckles. Absolutely fabulous. The lace and fine knits are quite pleasant and pretty. What bothers me are those leopard-print rabbit furs. I love fur both faux/real, but it just looks awfully tacky, but apparently they’re fairly lightweight, given the season they’re produced for. What really catches my attention though, is all of those textures, the leather and that ruching. Honestly, ruching can look so bad and poorly executed, but this really looks like class. The trench coats. Do we even need to mention them? Burberry literally invented the trench and this line is so lightweight and beautful, especially the lace. If I could just get my hands on one for all seasons…the dream.

Streamlined and sexy is what this line is all about. Melissa and Sebastian really bring that out in this presentation. Burberry always has a knack for model selections that represent the brand, granted I feel Hermione was a bit off this past season, but Kate Moss is still legendary and synonymous with the brand in past and choices of that annoying Agyness Deyn worked. Overall, Burberry is always anything I could ever want in a wardrobe: British edge and cool.

Alexander McQueen’s New Creative Director

Since Alexander McQueen’s untimely death, the fate of the brand or who would be filling his shoes next was up in the air. There were rumors of an obvious Gareth Pugh stepping in the creative director role, but now all rumors are laid to rest and the creative director has been named. Sarah Burton, that the Telegraph calls his ‘right-hand’, was confirmed today as the creative director of the brand. Burton joined the brand in 1996 in her final year at Central St. Martins, later to be appointed head of women’s wear design in 2000. She is credited for finishing the AW 2011 collection.

“The creation of modern, beautifully-crafted clothes was at the heart of Lee’s vision. I intend to stay true to his legacy,” Burton said.

I feel this will be a very good thing for the brand. She’ll probably bring fresh, new ideas and still representing McQueen at his best. The sheer beauty of the latest collection really shows that.

SATC2 Premiere

Sex and the City 2 is getting scathing reviews and who thought it wouldn’t otherwise? Will that stop moviegoers from not flocking to the theaters? No. Will I still be attending with my sister? Probably. From what I read, things that have been said include: “insipid,” “condescending,” and “blatantly anti-Muslim.” Roger Ebert even suggested that he does possess taste and that he can see that the clothes are awful. Now, I do love Roger Ebert, I read his opinions, I laugh at his wit and sarcastic humor, but I won’t be taking his opinion on the clothes, but then maybe he’s right. I trust Pat Field in all of her craz-tastic glory. Besides, I saw the last movie and if the previews do justice, there’s so much glamor to go around.

Anyway, that’s what we’re really here for in this post. The movie could be whatever it is for the moment, let’s discuss the premiere. All of the girls look absolutely stunning. I really hate when people harp on SJP; I feel she’s absolutely gorgeous. Her gown! I can recognize that Valentino Haute Couture from a mile away. She could have added a little something else, but it is absolutely a fun color that she pulled off perfectly. All of the other girls hit it on key, I mean Kristin in pink, she’s ravishing. What I really about how Pat styled them and there character personalities, they all really do basically dress like who they play. Glamorous. Also, Candace Bushnell showed up wearing that Miu Miu collar with the nude ladies. I’d KILL for that STILL to this day.

Along with the fabulous attendees to the premiere the other night, there were some fabulous trainwrecks along the way. Okay, we get it, you’re Liza with a “z,” you’re a gay icon, you’re mother dreamt of what’s over the rainbow, blah blah blah. You’re fabulous Liza, but something is just so amazingly a hot mess right here, there’s really no other words that can describe you draped in this silvery, shear fabric. Not to mention, are those chicken cutlets? My eyes are stabbing themselves with knifes at this craziness. Oh dear, dear Liza. Life is a cabaret, I do understand that old chum, but put on something a little less wackadoo.

Whitney Port and Jessica Szohr take note: NO.

I Die – Rachel, Brad (shirtless), and Creepy Terry

Terry Richardson photographs his subjects in a certain way, generally sexy, sometimes you feel you need to take a shower because it’s so dirty, but the point is that he may be a little creepy. I’m overlooking that here. These photos are ba-na-nas, literally ba-na-nas. Like, I die. If you know me, the secret that I love The Rachel Zoe Project is out and open. It’s also obvious that I have an unhealthy obsession with Brad. There’s a fantasy I have that before we make love, we take off our over-sized, hipster-esque glasses, and we rip off one another’s finest designer suits, mine of course being Tom Ford or Burberry. Now I know what Mr. Bradley Goreski looks like without his shirt. Just the way I like and imagined. Fap, fap, fap…While I do have a fantasy of working for Rachel, muscle-y and hairy Brad is making it a bit hot in here.

Louis Vuitton Off the Runway

I’ve noticed some fall 2010 Louis Vuitton gowns being shown off on the red carpet. My favorite that was worn by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley hasn’t surfaced yet, but three other looks have been down the red carpet. It was a little too grandma-chic and dingy at first, but then I actually found that I loved what Marc did for LV. The gowns look one way from a distance, but when you look closer, they’re much more intricate, detailed, and feminine when you take further examination.

Rachel Bilson and Maggie Gyllenhaal wore Lara Stone and Julia Nobis’s looks respectively to the Met Gala. Most critics didn’t like what either of them wore. Rachel’s appeared to be rather boring and didn’t match the event, while people couldn’t even describe Maggie’s. The metallic fabric resembles a tarp or trash bags, I’ll give them that.

Who really pulled Louis off was Milla Jovovich at the Cannes Festival. Say what you want, but the model/actress werks in the LV gown. I love her platform pumps, I love the subtlety of her hair and makeup; it works. I also love the color of the dress. Elle Macpherson first donned it down the runway, yet Milla shows it off to its true potential. Say what you want, but girlfriend is gorgeous and red carept ready. The fabric is so interesting. It is apparently this metallic fabric with pink, woven spots, almost like petals. Gorgeous. It’s a hard look to pull off, but someone had to do the job.

Lilo and Her SCRAM

Oh, Linds…once again you get to sport an ever so awesome ankle monitor. I love that she shows up in court (about time) trying to be conservative, yet still showing some cleavage. Stay classy, Lilo. I know, I’d hate people interfering in my life as well, but you were ordered to probation and you need to follow those conditions. Meanwhile, I like your pants and pumps combination. Almost looked fashionable and professional.

I’m expecting some very chic ankle bracelet moments in the coming months. I just remember that summer (images below) where she went to those celebrity beach parties and wore the bracelet around like it was nothing and clearly a fashion statement. Luckily, I’m certain Lagerfeld will not be presenting designer versions on Chanel runways again anytime soon. Get your act together, fire crotch.

Gaga Like Stone

I’ve been busy and didn’t get around to this yet, but it’s still open to discuss. Well, we all know “Alejandro” will be the next visual masterpiece by our Lady of Gaga and well, is Steven Klein referencing his own work or reliving it through Lady Gaga’s music? While it was long ago rumored that Lara Stone would be in the music video, we still haven’t the faintest of clues, why would Steven take a photoshoot of his featuring Lara and redo it? As every other site has concluded online, we wouldn’t have supposed Lady Gaga would be the one being original seeing that is what she touts. Hm, maybe referencing, like the whole “Telephone” and Quentin Tarantino thing, is her new way of expression. The things that confuse us in life. I can’t wait for full puzzle.

Open Letter To Kelly Bensimon

Dear Kelly,

Since you were apparently a “model,” I’ll take my personal fashion blog to address an open letter to your crazy ass. I just watched the last episode of The Real Housewives of New York City. Have you completely lost your ‘effing mind?! You are absolutely batshit crazy on parallel with Bozo and Charles Manson. You keep referencing 1979 with love, feelings, and emotions. Wackadoo, you have completely lost me.

I feel there is a dark, empty hole eating away at what brains you might possess. You majored in English and I see an excelled vocabulary, albeit mixed in with childish terminology, yet you aren’t quite there in picking up simple sarcasm and jokes. I’m sure Shakespeare wasn’t your literature of choice. Seriously, what is it with you in consistently naming a situation as “creepy?” I haven’t seen one of them being so, except for your demeanor in those situations.

I had a good laugh at you saying Bethenny is out to kill you, and it seems you truly think she will murder you, but don’t you think that’s an over-dramatization of the situation. Bethenny is my home girl and I feel we would be bff’s and do some damage together across the town, but let’s be honest, why would she need to trash you in the media? You ruin yourself just by being you. I’m sure there is medication for your type of craziness…probably not, though. You always feel like someone is attacking you, but they only bring it to you when you make some smart-ass, clueless remark about something you feel, and that is unnecessary and unwanted.

I don’t really know how to conclude this, because I could forever chat about what silliness is leaking from your brain. As Bethenny puts it, you’re a cock-a-doodle-doo. Keep on being you, because I’m sure you’ll never change, kitten.

Love Always,

Zach

p.s.

It’s called a ponytail, a hair band, a barrette, a headband, something. You’re always pulling and tugging on the front of your locks. You know what I’m talking about. You’re going to go bald from all of that stress to your hair, not to mention I can just imagine how much oil builds up from you touching it, you loon.
